Very professional company - would highly recommend. Tom and the team were quick to resolve a leak on our flat roof. Great communication throughout, reasonably priced and got the job done to a high spec quickly. Would certainly use again for any roofing work, thank you.

Signs Your Roof Needs a Repair
With the weather changing, more people find leaks and damp coming from their roofs. Acting fast when you first see a problem can prevent major damage to the inside or outside of your property.
A problem in one place can be put right without touching the rest of the roof. When the trouble is spread across the whole roof, a re-roof is the better value, and a flat roof with a wet deck calls for renewing the flat roof.
- Damp or stains inside On a ceiling, a wall or in the loft
- Slipped or missing slates A gap in a course, or tiles out of line
- Water coming in when it rains A drip or a patch that grows in a storm
- Worn boards at the edges Weathered timber along a gable or the eaves
A Slate Roof Opened Up and Re-covered
Photos from a slate roof we opened up and re-covered, from the broken old covering to the slates going on.
-
The damaged roof
With the lower slates lifted, the old covering beside the pipe had broken right through.
-
Opened up
The lower courses off, down to the old underlay and battens.
-
Slates going on
New membrane and battens fixed, with the slates going on course by course.
A Weathered Gable Board Replaced
The board along this gable had weathered and gathered moss. It was taken off, a new board fitted, and the gable finished in black to match the weatherboarding.
Boards along the gables and eaves take the weather first. Replacing a worn one before it lets water in keeps the repair small.
Repairing Chimney Stacks
We repair chimneys as well as roofs. A chimney stack takes the weather on every side, and the joint where it meets the roof is a common place for water to get in.
- Flashings Where the stack meets the roof slope
- Pointing Worn or missing mortar between the bricks
- Flaunching The mortar bed around the pots on top of the stack
- Chimney pots Cracked or loose pots at the top of the stack
What Customers Say About H&M Roofing
We had a leaky Dormer which required further lead work to make watertight, something the Developer failed to do, and were recommended H&M Roofing from the Suffolk Business Directory.
We were recommended H&M roofing by a friend of a friend. They came out to us when they said they would to quote for replacing our flat roofs on two porches. We were extremely happy with the quote and the work.
